There will be a Science Olympiad meeting this coming Monday, October 5 after school in the computer lab. New members are welcome.

There will be a fencing club meeting Thursday after school in the cafeteria. New members are welcome. If you are unable to attend, please contact Chelsey Salberg or Liz Huller.

Auditions for the fall musical will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, so please be sure to pick up a packet and sign up for an audition time in Mrs. Garver's room.

Colleges visiting RRHS this week include: Bradley University, University of Chicago, Muskingum University, Notre Dame College, State University of New York, Fredonia, and Westminster College. See Mrs. Urbin if you are interested in meeting with college representatives. A complete list of colleges visiting RRHS this fall is posted outside of the Guidance Office and on the Guidance web page.

Attention Seniors: The Cleveland Cavaliers and Majestic Steel USA, in partnership with Tri-C, Lakeland Community College, and LCCC, are pleased to offer six $2,000 scholarships for students pursuing a manufacturing career at one of the aforementioned institutions for the 2010-2011 school year. Additional information is available in the Guidance Office's Scholarship File under the March 1 deadline section.

Attention Seniors: Students considering applying to Drexel, Johnson and Wales, Kettering, RIT, U of Cincinnati, or the U of Toledo should consider applying for the National Commission for Cooperative Education's co-op scholarships. The deadline for application is February 15. Additional information is available at co-op.edu or in the Guidance Office's Scholarship File.

Attention Seniors: 40 scholarships are available at BGSU for incoming freshmen. The Ohio Board of Regents has awarded grant funds to BGSU in order to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education. This unique program called Science and Math in Action offers recipients $2,000 the first year of college with increases each year up to at least $4,250 the fourth year. High school seniors considering teaching either secondary or middle childhood science or math may be eligible. Deadline to apply is January 15. Congratulations to the winners of the annual Homecoming poster contest: Nikolina Paulic, Claire Corcoran, and Elise Griffiths. You can view their award-winning posters along with some other great contenders around the building that advertise homecoming activities.

There will be an informational swimming meeting after school on Friday, October 2 in Miss Dye's room, room 234. If you are intersted in being a part of the 2009-2010 swim team, you MUST attend the meeting. If you cannot attend, please see Miss Dye for details.

Attention all students! Club Soda is hosting a homeciming tailgate this Friday in the stadium parking lot starting at 5:30. For $3 you can get a hot dog, drink, and chips, with all proceeds benefitting the Rocky River Assistance Project, which directly help families in teh Rocky River community. So before the parade, share your spirit with us and help a good cause!

Auditions for the fall musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, are Sept. 29 and 30. Grab an audition packet and sign up for an audition time in Mrs. Garver's room.

Attention Model UN members: There will be a meeting at 7:15 on Monday morning. We will be picking countries and committees. Please be on time; latecomers get last pick!

Attention Speech & Debate Members: There is a mandatory meeting in Mr. Moeller's room tomorrow at 3:15. Please be on time. We will be discussing the novice tournament and fundraising.

There is an informational meeting for anyone interested in joining the gymnastics team on Thursday, September 24 at 3:30 in the Maroon & White Room.

For anyone who missed last week's Drama Club meeting, please stop by Mrs. Garver's room to order a t-shirt if you'd like one, sign up to see Wicked, Chicago, or In the Heights at Playhouse Square, and pick up audition information for the fall play. All of the info can be found on our drama club blog as well.

Picture retake day is Tuesday, October 13 from 8:30-10:00am in the Maroon & White Room. If you wish to have a picture retake, you must bring your complete original picture package on this day. All students must have their photo taken even if they do not plan on ordering pictures. Additional picture order forms are available in the main office. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. McGovern in the main office.

Don't forget that Wednesday is toga day! (Reminder: Togas MUST be school appropriate. Please wear a tee-shirt and shorts underneath your toga.)
